Welcome to the United Taxidermist Association

The UTA, founded by a group of like-minded individuals, was born out of a need to promote unity and professionalism within the taxidermy industry. Representatives from in and around the United States came together with a vision for advancing the art of taxidermy with special emphasis on education and youth. On September 12th, 2007 the United Taxidermist Association was officially incorporated in the state of New York.

To assure membership needs are heard within the UTA, we have representatives from six identified US regions, the U.S. Territories, as well as an International representative. With our foundation in place, the UTA is now looking to YOU to become a part of the strength and structure that make up a positive, forward thinking and progressive taxidermy association. The UTA will work towards enhancing the image of the industry and develop partnerships that benefit not only taxidermists, but also our colleagues in the sportsman’s rights and sporting industry. Critical partnerships are in the process of forming with key shooting and sporting organizations.

It is our fervent hope that with this and other types of outreach, you, the member, will benefit personally and professionally. We envision membership benefits, including:

  • Opportunities to improve skills by having access to up-to-date information regarding the taxidermy industry

  • Seminars at State and Regional conferences

  • Recognizing and supporting those working to provide your materials and supplies as well as those providing the technical services necessary to meet your demands

  • Sharing information about what is happening in the legislative world that affects your livelihood

  • Striving to make sure you have more direct access to organizations of like mind, to share ideas

  • Working hard to raise the profile and importance of professional and effective wildlife management

  • Working with youth, handicapped veterans, Boy Scouts of America, Be Bear Aware, and charity groups.

Of course these few thoughts are not all that is on our plate. We are here for you! So much more is to be accomplished and your support is needed to make it happen.
